Wrought Iron Side Chair attributed André Dubreuil, France circa 1986

A sculptural wrought iron side chair attributed to André Dubreuil, embodying the poetic and expressive language that defines the celebrated French designer’s work. Formed from hand-forged iron, the chair transforms simple steel rods into a rhythmic composition of sweeping curves, elegant spirals, and fluid lines, blurring the boundary between functional furniture and collectible sculpture. The elongated backrest culminates in a distinctive scroll motif, while the continuous looping forms of the seat and legs create a striking sense of movement despite the chair’s delicate appearance. Left with a naturally aged iron patina, the surface highlights the artisanal quality of the work and reinforces its timeless, architectural character. Equally compelling as a functional accent chair or as a standalone decorative object, this rare piece brings an unmistakable artistic presence to contemporary, minimalist, Brutalist, or eclectic interiors. A highly collectible design attributed to one of France’s most influential postmodern designers. Good vintage condition with a beautiful, naturally aged patina to the wrought iron. Minor wear and oxidation consistent with age and use, adding to its authentic character. A matching wrought iron side table is available separately in another of our listings, offering the opportunity to create a harmonious and highly decorative ensemble.
